Before we open the doors to The Meetings Show on 24 and 25 June there are some important things you'll find useful to know before you join us...

TOP TIPS    

What to wear

Whilst we don't have an official dress code we suggest business casual  - dress as you feel comfortable.

Wear comfy shoes

You’ll also do a surprising amount of walking at The Meetings Show. Between leaving your accommodation, walking between sessions and attending networking events, you may well be on your feet all day. Make sure you wear shoes which are comfortable and won't cause you pain.

Don't forget your business cards

You’re at The Meetings Show to learn AND network, so challenge yourself to connect with at least three new people every day.

Stay hydrated

Whilst at the show it's important that you take some time to rest and remember to stay hydrated. You'll find plenty of seating areas inside the show as well as locations to top up your water bottle throughout the day.

FOOD AND DRINK OPTIOPNS

Excel London offers its visitors over 20 on-site food and drink options selling a wide variety of cuisines and drinks etc.. (please note that Excel is a cash-free venue and all eateries are card only).

We have an onsite café at this year's show, giving you the opportunity to catch up with old colleagues and new connections as you take a break from the busy show floor.

If you prefer to, you can of course bring your own lunch with you to eat on site.

You can bring water bottles and there will be water fountains around the venue where you can refill. All the catering outlets will fill up any reusable water bottles with tap water free of charge and we encourage you to bring a reusable coffee cup as well.

ONSITE REGISTRATION FEE

Important: If you are a non-exhibiting supplier, please note that an onsite registration fee of £999 + VAT will apply on 24 - 25 June.

To avoid this, be sure to purchase your ticket in advance, between 1 April – 23 June for £850 + VAT.

FAQ's: ALL THE ANSWERS YOU NEED

Will there be any WIFI? 

Excel London has free, fast WiFi which is suitable for browsing, social media, and email. When you arrive at the venue, you just need to sign in to '_Excel FREE Wi-Fi' using standard log in, or via LinkedIn, Facebook, or Twitter

Will there be any cloakrooms I can use?

There are two cloakrooms available for use at Excel London.  One cloakroom is in the west end of the venue on level 0 by N4/S4 and one in the east end on level 0.

The fee is £1 per item for coats and luggage - please be aware Excel London cannot store cameras, laptop equipment or any other electronic devices.

Will there be a show guide?

As part of our sustainability promise, we will not be providing a show guide at the event. Use the show app to see the floorplan as well as large maps at the entrance.

Are there cash machines at Excel?

There are two Note ATMs near the west entrance of the venue by Costa and Panini Pronto, and another Note ATM in the centre of the boulevard between entrances S6 and N6. There are a Barclays and a Note ATM located on level 0 between N4 and S4. Should the in-venue ATMs run out of cash, there is also an ATM nearby at the Tesco Express.

Is there an event app?

Yes, there is an event app which will be available for download from Apple and Android stores. COMING SOON!

Please note: as part of our sustainability promise we will not be printing a show guide for this event and are looking to reduce literature at the event.

Can I bring my children to the show with me?

As a business trade-only event, under 18s are not permitted into the show unless approved by the event organisers.

GETTING TO EXCEL LONDON

We highly recommend that you use the Citymapper app on your phone to plan your journey quickly and easily - you can download this on Apple and Android phones via your app store. To use the app, simply type in your departure point and destination, then select your preferred mode of transport. 

THE ELIZABETH LINE

The Elizabeth line has transformed travel across London and make it easier, faster and more convenient to visit Excel by being a direct link to the closest station to The Meetings Show - Custom House.

Direct links for national travel:

  • Farringdon (for Thameslink services)
  •  Paddington (for Reading, Oxford, and the South West)
  • Liverpool Street (for Stansted and the East of England)

For international travel, there is a 43-minutes direct connection from Heathrow to Excel.

OTHER WAYS TO REACH EXCEL LONDON

DLR (Docklands Light Railway)

Please alight at Custom House – the West Entrance of Excel is nearest to The Meetings Show. 

The Docklands Light Railway (known as the DLR) is part of the London Underground network. Two of the stations, Custom House and Prince Regent, are on our campus. Trains pull up at a covered walkway leaving visitors with less than a two minute’s walk to the entrance.

Please alight at Custom House – the west entrance is nearest to The Meetings Show. 

DLR services: All trains towards Beckton/Gallions Reach will stop at Custom House and Prince Regent.

London Underground

Please alight at Custom House – the West Entrance of Excel is nearest to The Meetings Show. 

The Jubilee Line and the DLR are the quickest routes to Excel London. 

Alight at Canning Town on the Jubilee Line and change onto a Beckton-bound DLR train for the quick two-stop journey to Excel: Custom House for Excel.

London Overground

The London Overground, part of the London Underground network, serves a large part of Greater London and parts of Hertfordshire with 112 stations on several routes. The Overground is highlighted in Orange on the Tube map.

The DLR and Jubilee Line can be connected from multiple Overground lines such as Stratford, Canada Water, and Shadwell. It’s also possible to join the Overground and travel to Excel London from Euston station. 

National Rail

Rail services in the UK are run by a set of private train operating companies. Your point of departure will determine the best service to take and at what station your train will arrive into London.

Eurostar:
Eurostar operates regular train services from Brussels and Paris to St Pancras International. For bookings or more information please visit eurostar.com/uk-en

Rail tickets:
Rail tickets can be booked via the following links — tickets are usually released 12 weeks from date of travel and booking early can save you money: nationalrail.co.uk and thetrainline.com

Driving and parking

You can download Excel's parking map which shows you the location of the car parks on campus.

If you’re arriving via the M11, the North Circular (A406) or the A13, as you get closer to Excel you’ll pick up signs for Royal Docks, City Airport and Excel London.

If you’re using satellite navigation, please enter the postcodes below. You can also use the what3words app or go to the website, and enter the three word address (///word.word.word). The three words for each postcode are listed below.

E16 1XL:
If you are travelling from the west to Excel from Blackwall Tunnel, Limehouse Link, A12 or central London. 

For entrance to the car park, use ///expect.likes.eager

E16 1FR:
If you are travelling from the east to Excel from the M11, A13 or into London from the east.

For entrance to the car park, use ///expect.likes.eager

E16 1AL:
If you are using the Royal Victoria Car Park (MSCP) — approximately a 5-minutes walk from the venue. For entrance to the car park, us ///output.rooms.drive

There is an onsite taxi rank at Excel London, for easy drop-off and pick-up.

River and cable car

Travel by boat:
With some of the best views of the capital’s most popular landmarks including Big Ben, the London Eye, the Tower of London, St. Paul’s Cathedral and The O2, travelling on a river boat service offers a truly unique perspective on London. The route is serviced by Uber Boat by Thames Clippers; the fastest and most frequent boat fleet on the river with departures from major London piers every 20 minutes.

When travelling to Excel London, alight at the all-new Royal Wharf Pier.  It takes just over 20 minutes to walk through Britannia Village and over the Royal Victoria dock footbridge to Excel’s west entrance. 

The Royal Wharf Pier opened in October 2019 and provides a 38-minutes link into Central London.

Accessibility:
All boats are wheelchair and pram accessible by ramp — all piers are wheelchair accessible except London Bridge, Wandsworth Riverside Quarter and Cadogan piers. Ramps are used for boarding.

Ticket prices:
Travel from Central London to Royal Wharf from £7.30 when you touch in and out with Oyster pay as you go, or just £6.10 with a Travelcard — click to see a full list of fares here

 

Emirates Airline Cable Car:
The UK’s first urban cable car, known as the Emirates Air Line, connects Excel London to The O2 and North Greenwich tube station. On the cable car, you can sit back, relax and enjoy stunning aerial views of London from 90m above the River Thames.

All exhibitors and visitors to shows at Excel can use the cable car for just £3 single fare - to redeem this exclusive discount, all you need to do is show a confirmation email/ticket etc - something that indicates that you are attending an Excel event - to the staff at the Emirates Airline terminals.

Journey time
A cabin arrives every 30 seconds and flights last approximately 10 minutes — except during peak commuter times when it runs a bit quicker.

Accessibility
Emirates Air Line is fully accessible for most wheelchairs and pushchairs. It has step-free access, and you can even take bicycles on board!

Cycling

Cycle racks:
Excel London has free to use cycle racks located at the west entrance taxi drop off point just underneath the DLR walkway. The cycle racks are also available near to the east entrance underneath the stairway connecting Level 0 to Level 1.

We are very close to the cycle superhighway route CS3 which runs from Barking to Tower Gateway.

You can take your bike on the Emirates Air Line cable car at all times at no extra cost, click here to find out more about taking your bike on public transport.

You can take your bike on the DLR during off-peak times Monday to Friday until 07:30, between 09:30-16:00, and after 19:00, and all day during weekends and Bank Holidays, click here to find out more about taking your bike on public transport.

Excel is approximately 20-minutes walking distance from Canning Town underground station and you can download the walking route map here
