Tomorrow’s Talent 2024: Megan Earl

Tomorrow’s Talent 2024: Megan Earl

Megan Earl joined HTS (Hotel and Travel Solutions) in December 2022 after graduating from university with a degree in Business and Event Management. While studying, Megan ignited her passion for events by working in the industry, planning events for women’s empowerment, supporting a venue with leisure events and working as a venue stylist. She was recently promoted to conference and events manager at HTS.

What does bring a Tomorrow’s Talent winner mean to you?

It’s brilliant to have industry recognition for what I’ve achieved in such a short time – it’s helping me push through the imposter syndrome!

Who or what in the meetings industry inspires you?

The most inspiring experience I have had was witnessing the industry thrive after almost completely disappearing due to the pandemic. It all comes down to the industry having a community that is so strong and welcoming – that’s one of the main reasons why it is so perfect for young people who may be new to the sector. Something I would like to champion in my career, is to draw a younger audience into to the meetings and events industry, spreading the message by visiting schools and colleges.

What has been your proudest career moment so far?

Firstly, it has to be winning the Tomorrow’s Talent award! Secondly, it is growing the conference department at HTS by making it my own, with a new team, new systems, policies, and processes. It’s been really rewarding and I worked hard to get it where it is, and I’m really proud of that when I think about it all.

What are your career ambitions?

I am really grateful, as I’ve achieved so much already and have only been doing this for a short time. I’m focused on achieving even more – a bigger team, larger events, more clients and greater on-site event management and production. The Grammys would be the ultimate dream to work on one day – it’s fun creative and fashion driven!

What do you most love about working in events?

It has to comes back to the sense of community again, the industry is extremely welcoming! I feel lucky to have experienced multiple incredible events, venues, and trips – all those highs make it worth the hard graft.
