Designed by Sir Thomas Jackson, and built between 1876 and 1881 to house the University’s examinations, the impressive Examination Schools is brimming with beautiful architectural features from sweeping Italianate marble staircases to ornate wooden carvings and original Victorian fireplaces.
The Examination Schools is in the heart of Oxford city centre on the High Street making it the ideal venue for conferences, festivals, talks, awards dinners, exhibitions, celebrations and so much more. Rooms are spread across two easy-to-navigate accessible floors with individual capacities from 12 to 440 with the possibility to combine space to host up to 800. You enter into the Great Hall, and ideal space to meet and greet your guests, and can also make use of our pretty outside Quadrangle with its pristine lawn and space for a marquee.
