Named in honour of Queen Victoria, the Victoria Rooms first opened its doors to the public in 1842 and for many years served as the most important and lively cultural centre of the West of England. Now it is the home of the University of Bristol’s Department of Music which hosts a variety of musical events showcasing the talents of musicians from all corners of the University in the magnificent auditorium of this iconic and impressive venue.
Few venues can match the Victoria Rooms for its versatility, location and size. The 504-seat auditorium (with stage extension or 609-seat without extension) is complete with the latest audio visual technology, state of the art lighting and a full orchestral size stage. Please note that Hearing Loop is only available with the fixed microphone in the lectern stand. With an elegant Recital Room, 3 lecture rooms, a bar, green rooms and an Octagon, the Victoria Rooms offers a truly flexible, adaptable and unique space for a wide range of events.
