A freelance strategist and creative director servicing the events community delivering experiences defined and shaped by culture first – everything else is just infrastructure. The need for Ideas and storytelling is growing as product markets commoditize. Events belong to audiences and personalization creates connections audiences can trust - and the veracity of an original idea will make or break the brand, win or lose your pitch. The experience economy is a global-local environment and my day to day experience reflects this servicing agency and corporate market. A self-proclaimed “call guy”, my job is to change things, identify the issues, generate the ideas, specify how to deliver on time and on budget. I am called on to write the proposals, lead the pitches and deliver “one new thing” to every event – it’s the first thing anyone will remember.
In addition to freelance creative I run workshops and discovery meetings and support my industry as a keynote speaker and moderator, regularly published in the media, a part-time lecturer and mentor at Westminster University, past board member at ILEA and one of the magnificent seven founders of the growing ICE AWARDS initiative. I am believer in “art” as a predicter for the future and as interested and involved with technology and the metrics producing “blurred lines” of digital synergy for live events and much as anything else – from “mad-man” to “math-man” as one commentator correctly observed.
