Danny Stevens is a pioneer of the Belgian Event industry. As a founder and CEO of the leading event agency Event Masters since 1991, he managed over 3000 events and understands the needs of meeting and event planners like no other. In a spinoff company, he created an in-house developed event management platform 'EventDrive' and focused on the added value of technology for the meeting industry. fielddrive is his most recent challenge, a disruptive and global approach for onsite badging services and visitor tracking. He is a passionate traveller and photographer, always in for an adventure, and out to discover new technology trends. He has been spotted riding enduro motorbikes through the Australian outback, diving the waters of Indonesia, kiteboarding the shores of Venezuela, discovering indigenous tribes in Ethiopia, taking real photographs with drones in the Alps, looking for his golf in bushes of Andalusia, and dwelling technology fairs around the globe.

Maarten Vanneste
President, Meeting Design Institute
Maarten Vanneste started his company ABBIT VIDEO in 1982. It grew from an AV company over production to a full service meeting design company. After more than 30 years he is seen as a Meeting Industry leader and visionary with a focus on meeting design. His CMM's business-plan project became reality as the Meeting Support Institute (2006). The now called Meeting Design Institute is a member based organisation that educates and exposes meeting planners to meeting design and its toolbox. In 2007 Maarten wrote the ground-breaking book ‘Meeting Architecture, a manifesto’. This became an industry bestseller that lead to an international movement and educational projects. With a focus on the objective based meeting design, the Meeting Design Institute organises events like the FRESH Conference and education like a 5-day training in Meeting Architecture. The 2013 Meeting Architecture Process (MAP) workbook provides a standard Meeting Design methodology. Maarten is an influential innovator, author, trainer and a speaker. For his relentless work and influence in the Meetings industry, he received the IMEX Academy Award in 2005 and the MPI RISE Award for Industry Leadership in 2011.

Matthew Howarth

Matthew joined the London Cvent team in September 2014, bringing with him over 12 years’ experience in the technology arena. Oxford graduate Matthew is passionate about technology innovation and relishes in introducing new technology to the events industry. Cvent is the world’s largest event technology company, over 157,000 users leverage their integrated software globally. As a senior member of the UK Cvent team, Matthew is responsible for growth in the UK and Europe. Prior to Cvent, Matthew was sales manager for Vocus, a multinational award winning provider of cloud-based marketing and PR software, where he introduced some of EMEA’s largest enterprises to the benefits of integrated technology. He also headed up Group Operations for Consolis Systems Ltd, a group of technology companies for corporate communications. His technology sales career began with Cardpoint, where he was a key member of the senior management team; contributing to the retail solutions provider’s substantial growth from start up to a £120 million European market leader. When not educating the events industry on the benefits of technology and intelligently automated systems, Matthew can be found with his camera taking street portraits and nocturnal landscapes to add to his portfolio. He is an internationally published photographer, having had his images used by Canon, Epson, Sky, Lonely Planet, Elle and Marketing Week.

Mauricio Palacio

Co-Founder and CEO, Eventtia
Mauricio Palacio is the co-founder and the CEO at Eventtia, an event technology startup he created in 2015. Originally from Colombia, he came to France to pursue his Engineering Studies at Ecole Centrale de Lyon. He is also a graduate in Visual Arts at the Sorbonne. Passionate about technologies, Mauricio started his career at the consulting firm Accenture, where he participated in multiple digital transformation projects within major French financial groups, such as Societe Generale, BNP Paribas, Allianz. In 2013, he decided to build a bridge between France and Colombia by launching his company Eventtia, which operates in both countries.
